EKU’s Position on Cultural Diversity

Eastern Kentucky University (EKU) is a higher education school which previously committed to promoting workplace diversity, respect, and inclusive practices. The university saw great value in the diversity and inclusion of staff and students. In 2025, the university recently changed its language about promoting diversity and using terms such as supporting viewpoint neutrality. The governor of Kentucky, Andy Beshear, vetoed the law that required EKU to ban diversity, equity and inclusion practices at universities within the state of Kentucky that receive public funds, yet it still passed.
